Atelier V. V. lino print wallpaper
Atelier V.V. is a small wallpaper workshop in the Flemish Ardennes, Belgium, run by Dimitri Vermeylen and Vicky Vermeire. Their interest in historic wallpaper was sparked during a visit to the Musée du Papier Peint in Rixheim, France, where they first encountered the beauty and tactility of hand-printed wallpaper. They began rebuilding the craft largely from historical sources, working professionally from 2023. They are the only atelier in Belgium currently producing blockprint wallpaper by hand.

In their workshop, Atelier V.V. produces three types of hand-printed wallpaper. Blockprint wallpaper is made using pearwood blocks and distemper paint from hide glue and non-toxic earth and organic pigments. Dominoté sheets are printed with homemade inks made from linseed oil and pigments and/or gum arabic and pigments. Their third and more contemporary technique is linocut wallpaper, printed on a vintage lithographic proofing press. Both blockprint and dominoté are also used for heritage wallpaper reconstructions, in collaboration with conservators, architects and historians. Across all three techniques, Atelier V.V. works with artists and designers, acting as both publisher and printer.
