George’s expertise extends to the meticulous repair and restoration of damaged dado and ceiling panels, friezes and raised-relief wallpapers dating from the 1870s onwards. George’s lifelong passion for conserving rare and historically significant wallcoverings has resulted in donations of historic papers being accepted into The Whitworth (Museum) collection and led to him developing an exceptional knowledge of Victorian and Arts & Crafts decorative finishes. His work includes the restoration of many renowned embossed wallcoverings such as Lincrusta, Anaglypta, Tynecastle, Cameoid and Lignomur.
